What do you think?

We want to give you a chance to tell us what you think about some of the greatest issues facing the nation today. If any of the issues do not concern you, then you do not have to answer that question.

At the end, we’ll give you a chance to briefly state your opinion and you can take a look at how others have ranked these issues. The topics that have been chosen for inclusion here are listed alphabetically.

So let’s get started:

Abortion

Abortion should be legal and freely available.
Abortion should be legal and available, but there should be restrictions on age, and availability of drugs such as the morning-after pill.
Abortion should be illegal except in cases of rape, incest, or life of the mother.
Abortion should be illegal in all cases.

Alcohol/Drug Use

All drugs should be legal and we should benefit from the tax revenue.
Marijuana should be legalized.
Alcohol and drug abuse is a psychological problem, not a criminal problem.
Medical marijuana should be legal but recreational drugs should remain illegal.
Alcohol and drug use hurts the body, increases crime, and endangers citizens and should be illegal.

Big Business/The 1%

Too much money is in the hands of a small group of people and we need to redistribute this wealth.
We need to raise taxes on the wealthiest in order to pay for free college, free healthcare, and other benefits.
No business is too big to fail, and our taxes should not go to bail out big business.
The real issue is the 53% that are paying taxes are taking care of the 47% which are not.
The collection and hoarding of wealth is not a primary concern to me.

Corruption

Most political officials are corrupt and are cheating the public.
Most political officials are good citizens and perform a valuable service to the community, state, and nation.
There is some corruption, but we are doing a good job of rooting it out and punishing it.
Political office holders are more concerned about holding office and making money or wielding power.
When caught, politicians will do anything to avoid admitting their faults and apologizing.

Environment/Energy

Global warming is caused by man and we must do something now to curb/reverse this trend.
We should not be concerned about environmental issues. The planet is not greatly affected by man living on it.
This is issue is exploited to push a radical agenda that raises gas prices and hinders business.
We are to be stewards of this planet, and should consider our actions and how they affect the planet.
We should be moving toward clean energy sources, but it is not a major concern.

Foreign Affairs

The U.S. should be isolationist. We need to take care of ourselves.
The U.S. view should be globalism. It is our responsibility to help police the world.
We need to expand our role in the world and increase our influence.

Gender Identity Issues

We should not judge others, and should allow people to choose the gender they prefer and put this on public display.
We should not restrict others from choosing their gender based on how they feel, but they need to keep this to themselves.
Being “transgender” is a psychological problem or sin problem and should not be condoned or encouraged.

Gun Control

There are too many guns and this is leads to the school shootings and other horrible incidents throughout the country.
Guns are a problem, but the bigger problem is people. We need to increase our security and improve mental health care.
Guns are not the problem. Good people need access to guns to help protect their person, families, communities, and property.

Healthcare

It is the responsibility of the government to provide healthcare for everyone.
We need to make low cost options available for those who cannot afford insurance.
Taxpayers should not be paying for health care for those that will not work.

Homosexual Marriage

You can’t help who you love. It isn’t a choice. Love wins.
People should be allowed to choose whoever they want to marry and no one should express an opinion against it.
Homosexual marriage is wrong and hurts the very fabric of society.

Islam/Sharia Law

We live in a free society and people should be welcomed in and allowed to worship however they see fit.
Islam is not on a mission to take over the world nor is it trying to create sharia law in non-Islamic countries.
Islam is a serious threat to our national security and should be curtailed wherever possible.
It is the expressed goal of Islam to take over the world and enforce sharia law.

Immigration

We need open borders and amnesty for those that have been here for more than two years.
We need to punish those who are in this country illegally and lock down our borders.
We need to be more open about letting immigrants into the country.
We need to be more restrictive of who we let into the country.

Personal Freedom/"Big Brother" Government Surveillance

The government needs to collect whatever information it needs to keep us safe.
The government has overstepped its power in collecting personal information.
The government should collect the information it needs, but there needs to be stringent restrictions on how it can be accessed and used.

Racism

Racism is fading out and is becoming less of an issue.
Racism is a real concern and we need to be working together to improve relations.
Racism in this country is getting worse and needs more attention.
Racism in this country is getting better and is hurt by activists and media constantly stirring things up.

Supreme Court

Our current system is good, and the Supreme Court is doing a good job in its rulings.
The Supreme Court is overstepping its place and is legislating from the bench.
There should not be lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court.
Lifetime appointments are necessary to avoid political entanglements.
