Why Doesn’t God Do Something?

A moment’s reflection shows the absurdity and impossibility of God intervening in every disaster or each time evil is about to befall one of His children. Why does God not “do something?”

Worthy of Praise

If we had the tongues of angels, we could not praise God as He deserves to be praised. If we were born speaking praises and had breath to never cease, we could never adequately exalt His name in this life. If every rock could speak, it would praise God. If the stars could sing, their song would be in His honor. If the animals could write, their words would form new praises for their Creator. The very stones would praise Him if the need arose, and a thousand legions of angels would leap to do His will.

The Only Book God Ever Wrote

Most popular authors are prolific. They write and write. Many had several books on the market before they became well known. God didn't do that. If you go in a Books-A-Million and search a database for "books that God wrote," you'll only find one listing.

When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

The Bible warns us that “evil” days will come (Ecclesiastes 12:1; Matthew 6:34; Ephesians 5:16). Job observed, “Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble” (Job 14:1; cf. Psalm 73:14, 21). At times, there will be events, situations, diagnoses, tragedies, and conditions in our lives that will not make sense. At such times, our faith will be tested. And, in such storms, there are foundation stones that cannot be moved.

You Can’t Scratch Out the Eyes of God

Big Boys Don’t Cry

So we tell little boys when they fall. Then they read in their Bibles that Jesus wept. Does that mean He was a “sissie?” No. One has to consider the reason for the tears....

We Are Wonderfully Made

Over the past two decades, I have had numerous occasions to gaze upon the internal workings of a computer. I am always amazed at the circuitry and complexity therein. An accident? Of course not!...
